We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.

I also heard of the news on this. Hopefully it is an April Fool’s Day joke because FileFront is where a good deal of all Unreal Tournament 2004 downloads are. >.<

This has got to be an April Fools’ prank–the announcement of their closing just seemed too “sudden” and I didn’t see anything that would’ve led up to it. o.o;

Sadly I doubt this is a joke at all, since it seems to be a tad bit too early for them.
A friend of mine just checked out FileFront–the site’s still up and the downloads still works, so I’m just as skeptical about this as he is. Still, we’re not gonna know if the FileFront shutdown is real or not until tomorrow at the earliest. @.@

@ xeno: Just tested a few FileFront download links a minute ago–still up, but I still see the “FileFront Farewell” message up as well. Guess we have to wait until April 1st to find out for sure. @.@

Yay! I knew something was off when they made that announcement all of a sudden! Now we shouldn’t have anything to worry about…for now. XD
It wasn’t intended to be a prank, it came well before April 1. The site was acquired by the oriional members so the Front of Files lives on! ^_^
What happened there is that the original FileFront owners have bought FileFront from the Ziff Davis Media (who plans to shut the site down).
Good thing that FileFront is now working!
